Walt Disney World® Resort

A sprawling entertainment complex in Florida featuring theme parks, water parks, hotels, and myriad attractions for all ages.

Tips from the community

When: November 6 – December 30, 2020 Where: Orlando, Florida While this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and the Candlelight Processional are cancelled for health and safety reasons, each of Disney World’s four theme parks has holiday treats, decorations, and even a chance to see Santa (from a safe distance, of course). At Magic Kingdom, guests will be greeted by a 65 foot tall tree and can catch Disney characters on parade floats throughout the day. Animal Kingdom’s decor evokes the spirit of nature and Hollywood Studios is taking on a glitzy Tinseltown feel.  Expert Tip: If you want to experience the holidays at all four parks, now’s the time. The Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Holidays runs from November 27 to December 30 and includes food booths with dishes from around the world, a cookie stroll, live music, and more.

This massive sundae gives the term “Everything but the kitchen sink” a whole new meaning. It’s made with eight scoops of ice cream in various flavors and topped with cookies, cherries, sprinkles, whipped cream, and every other topping they have behind the counter. Oh, and it’s served in an actual silver kitchen sink. It’s made to serve four, but we won’t judge. Find it at Beaches & Cream in Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

Folks have long shared stories of encounters with a ghost named George, who purportedly died while working on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at the Magic Kingdom. Disney cast members have shared stories of George reportedly stopping the ride, making phone calls, and even showing up on security footage. Workers say good night to George or risk ride interruptions the next day.
